The Isle with proximity voice

The Cult is a voice-first The Isle: Evrima server. A player's voice comes from the dinosaur standing on Gateway: left and right, near and far, present or silent. Proximity voice becomes part of surviving rather than another channel beside the game.

Not a global voice room

The world decides who you hear

01

Direction matters

A voice comes from the dinosaur speaking. Turn away and it moves behind you; circle the player and the sound moves with them.

02

Distance matters

Nearby players sound close, distant players fade, and players outside the audible range are silent. It is not a global Discord room laid over the game.

03

Identity follows the body

The Cult Voice links Mumble to your Steam identity and the dinosaur you are actually playing, so the positional audio comes from the right place on Gateway.

One setup

Then it follows you

Install The Cult Voice, connect Mumble to mumble.islecult.com, and approve the one-time link to your account. Windows and Linux are supported. Voice is required while playing; the optional Overlay is not.

Persistent survival

More than a voice chat server

Eight-slot dinosaur Vault

Put a dinosaur away without losing its growth, mutations or position, play another species, and bring it back later.

Owned skins and breeding

Skins are inventory items you can wear, store and trade. Bred colours can become species-locked skins with a history of their own.

A player auction house

Trade dinosaurs and eligible skins for Favour through private maximum bids, visible settlement and a complete ledger.

An optional in-game overlay

Open the map, Vault and balance over Evrima without alt-tabbing. Your live marker remains private to you.

The Isle proximity voice FAQ

Does The Cult have proximity voice chat in The Isle: Evrima?

Yes. The Cult adds positional proximity voice through The Cult Voice and Mumble. Direction, distance and falloff are calculated from the dinosaurs standing in the game world.

Is voice required on The Cult?

A linked Mumble connection with The Cult Voice enabled is required while playing. The joining guide walks through the setup once for Windows and Linux.

Is it global voice chat?

No. Players outside audible range are silent. If you hear somebody, their linked dinosaur is close enough for the positional voice system to carry them.

What else is different about The Cult?

The server adds an eight-slot dinosaur Vault, owned and tradeable skins, inherited breeding colours, a player auction house, Favour and an optional in-game overlay.

How do I join the server?
