◉ The Cult

◉ Player data

Privacy

The Cult stores the information needed to recognise one player across Discord, Steam, the game server, proximity voice, the overlay, the vault and the auction house. We do not request your Discord email, messages or guild list, and we never receive your Steam password.

What we store

  • Discord user ID and display name; SteamID64 and in-game/display names.
  • Account, Mumble certificate and voice/overlay device-link state.
  • Dinosaur vault payloads and safe metadata such as species, growth, mutations, appearance, location and online/resting evidence.
  • Saved skins, balances, ledger entries, listings, bids, watches, notifications and storage-job history.
  • If you allow optional analytics: pages visited, selected joining/download interactions, referring page, browser/device details, approximate region and Google's random analytics identifier.
  • Security and administrative audit records needed to investigate abuse and protect the service.

Why we use it

  • To authenticate you and bind the correct Discord, Steam and game identities.
  • To provide voice, overlay, vault, skins and auction-house features.
  • To settle trades, prevent duplicate spending and recover interrupted storage operations.
  • To enforce server rules, diagnose failures and keep an accountable admin trail.

Retention & sharing

Account and gameplay records are kept while the service needs them to provide your account and protect its economy. Operational and security records may remain after unlinking where they are needed to reconcile trades, investigate abuse or preserve other players' records. Data is handled by The Cult's service providers, including Discord, Steam, Cloudflare and, when you allow analytics, Google, only as required to run these features. We do not sell player data.

Website analytics

Google Analytics is optional. The Google tag does not load and no analytics request is sent until you choose Allow analytics. Advertising storage stays disabled, and we do not send your Discord ID, Steam ID or in-game name to Google. You can withdraw permission at any time.

Access or deletion

Ask a staff member in The Cult Discord to access, correct, unlink or delete your account data. We will explain any records that cannot be removed immediately because they protect completed trades, security investigations or another player's account.
